So, according to NME,
Guns N Roses are re-releasing their ‘Greatest Hits’ album, apparently in time for Father’s Day (June 15).
According to a press release about the album which will be reissued on June 2, the collection is out again “especially for Father’s Day, as it’s most definitely the only album of choice for any serious rockfather”.
However, there is still no definitive news whether Axl Rose’s long-delayed ‘Chinese Democracy’ will come out in 2008, despite recent reports that the album is finally finished.
The ‘Greatest Hits’ album features the following tracks:
‘Welcome To The Jungle’
‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’
‘Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door’
‘You Could Be Mine’
‘Don’t Cry (Original)’
‘Live And Let Die’
‘Ain’t It Fun’
‘Since I Don’t Have You’
‘Sympathy For The Devil’
Doesn’t pretty much everybody with a CD collection already have these tracks?
And hmm, the album is finally finished you say? Well, according to Geffen Records anyway, yes, after 14 years it is finally finished. Not only that, but also according to NME,
The album is reported to have cost in excess of $13million (£6.5million) to produce.
But, I mean, c’mon they shouldn’t squabble over $13mil, I’m sure they can make it all back with the tie-in “Chinese Democracy” reality show! (Seriously, once again as per NME…)
Guns N Roses’ Axl Rose may get his own reality TV show focusing on the saga of his as-yet-unreleased album, ‘Chinese Democracy’.
According to AllyourTV.com, the show has been proposed, and is set to show footage of Rose and the other current members of Guns N Roses as they go about the recording of the album.
The website explains that a “major music-orientated television channel” is behind the proposal.
It quotes a source as saying: “There is a lot of footage to choose from. Some of it is incredibly personal and revealing about Axl’s life.”
Commence laughter. And celebration! A hits collection, a long-awaited Axl Rose comeback album, with a reality show detailing the sordid parts of Axl’s life?! (Wait, I think I already caught the first season of that in the videos for “Use Your Illusion I & II.”) Well, I’m still excited anyway. Maybe they’ll come out with a clothing line next.
Guns N Roses drummer Matt Sorum officially launched his new line of clothing at a star-studded grand opening of his Sorum Noce boutique in Los Angeles last night (May 14).
